QSC wraps up summer camp, showcasing youth innovation and STEM

Doha: The Qatar Scientific Club (QSC), part of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, concluded its summer scientific camp themed "Pioneers of Science and Technology". The camp featured numerous scientific and technological activities, workshops, and creative projects, engaging young participants from various backgrounds. This initiative aimed to capitalize on the summer break, cultivate young people's skills, and encourage their interest in science, technology, and innovation.

The club collaborated with the Public Works Authority to implement the "Future Engineer" program, involving 40 young people and resulting in six innovative projects. Additionally, QSC partnered with the Qatar Society of Engineers to organize the STEM 2026 Program, engaging 40 young participants in seven creative projects aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030.

The camp also included the "Young Inventors" program with 34 participants, followed by a second phase to further develop their ideas. Seven workshops were organized by the Makerspace Department, covering emerging technologies like 3D printing and artificial intelligence, benefiting 84 participants. The "Promising Innovator" section held 12 workshops, attracting 840 participants, focusing on various scientific and technological fields.

Another highlight was the "From Idea to Smart Prototype" program, teaching participants the stages of turning ideas into prototypes, interactive projects, and designing smart devices. The club also conducted lectures and training workshops on AI for youth centers, led by experienced Qatari trainers. Director Fatima Al Mohannadi praised the camp's success in participant numbers, program objectives, and innovative projects, emphasizing the club's commitment to fostering youth empowerment, leadership, and a conducive environment for innovation and creativity.
