Polis siasat dakwaan buli berkait kematian remaja 14 tahun

Kuala Lumpur Police are investigating the possibility of an unusual factor in the death of a 14-year-old high school student in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur last weekend. The victim was taken to Hospital Kuala Lumpur following a distress call made by her mother around 2 in the morning on August 18, shortly after finding her daughter in her bedroom at home on Jalan Langkawi.

While the teenager was initially reported to be alive, they were later pronounced dead during treatment around 2:25 in the morning. A post-mortem examination has been conducted to determine the cause of death. Police have opened a criminal investigation following a report from the victim's mother on August 19. Police have gathered 92 witness statements to assist the investigation, according to a statement.

The matter is being investigated in relation to the use of threatening, defaming or insulting language intended to cause emotional distress or fear, which carries a maximum penalty of three years' imprisonment, a fine, or both. The Education Ministry (KPM) instructed schools and education officials to expedite the investigation into the death of the 14-year-old girl who died after being allegedly bullied at school this week.

The student's death has prompted calls from various quarters, including PKR Youth Leader Kamil Munim, for a thorough investigation.
