NTA suspends private agency after power failure disrupts AIAPGET exam in Jaipur

Forty-nine candidates out of 192 taking the All India Ayush Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET) at Satya Sai PG College in Jaipur were unable to finish the computer-based exam due to a power outage of about 20 minutes. The disruption occurred as the two-hour exam was taking place from 10 a.m. The National Testing Agency (NTA), responsible for the test, announced that a re-examination would be held on September 1 at Rajasthan College of Engineering for Women in Jaipur for those who could not complete their test.

Eduquity Career Technologies Private Limited, the agency conducting the test at the center, was blamed for the power failure. Candidates reported that several computer systems malfunctioned following the outage, which was allegedly caused by a short circuit. The invigilator informed the candidates that power would be restored shortly, but it was not restored for a considerable time.

Consequently, the candidates exited the center and began protesting. Some students claimed that others were talking and copying during the disruption, even in the presence of the center observer, who allegedly did not intervene.

Power outages occurred multiple times without a backup system in place. During this period, some candidates began talking and left the examination center. One candidate stated that they were asked to sit in front of a non-functional computer, questioning how they could continue the exam when the computer was not working. The center observer explained that the lack of backup was due to a technical fault and that a report would be sent to the NTA.

Of the 36,979 registered candidates who took the first shift of the AIAPGET on August 22, 2026, 35,837 appeared at 200 centers across the country, but only 35,788 completed the exam. At the Shri Satya Sai PG College center in Jaipur, where 192 candidates were present, 49 were unable to finish their examination due to the power failure.
