Mumbai Indians appoints Zubin Bharucha as Director of Performance
Zubin Bharucha, a 56-year-old, has been appointed as the Director of Performance for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. He previously worked with the Rajasthan Royals and will collaborate with the existing multi-disciplinary leadership group at Mumbai Indians. The team finished ninth in the 2026 season, despite having top-tier players, and struggled with performance.
Hardik Pandya, the captain, faced questions about his role due to the team's underwhelming results. Reports suggest Mumbai Indians were not keen on retaining Hardik as captain, and he had even discussed his future with Gujarat Titans, where he won the title as captain in 2022.
