Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh - The Katni Superintendent of Police, Neha Pachisia, has been suspended over allegations of involvement in a land grab case, as directed by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. The state government has taken the matter seriously, emphasizing that any form of negligence, pressure, or abuse of power will not be tolerated in law and order matters.
The case came to light after a family accused Pachisia of pressuring them to sell their land and pay a hefty sum in exchange for their relative's release from jail. Ramesh Lodhi, a resident of Kuthla police station, lodged the complaint, alleging that his land worth Rs 82,86,930 was forcefully taken for just Rs 18.20 lakh. The officer reportedly convinced the family to transfer the land in the name of Maruf Ahmed Hanafi, who allegedly had no funds to complete the purchase.
An investigation by the Jabalpur Zone found irregularities in the fund transfers. On April 15, 2026, Rs 15 lakh were transferred to Hanafi's account, despite only Rs 3,036 being available on July 11, 2025. Additional transfers of Rs 10 lakh and Rs 5 lakh were traced to Shine Partners and Kshitij Raj Barapatre accounts, respectively. Barapatre is believed to be a close associate, relative, or business partner of Pachisia.
The Katni Superintendent of Police, Abhinav Vishwakarma, confirmed that a case was registered against the CSP and other accused at Kuthla police station in Katni, charging them with fraud, coercion, and criminal conspiracy.
