Mercedes-Benz is rethinking the car showroom with its new Singapore Studio
Opening at Gardens by the Bay, the brand’s first Southeast Asian Studio combines new cars with art installations, food, retail and community programming.
Mercedes-Benz is introducing a new concept for its car showrooms with the opening of the Mercedes-Benz Studio Singapore on September 2. Located at Gardens by the Bay, the Studio combines new cars with art installations, food, retail and community programming to create a unique destination that goes beyond car enthusiasts. The Studio is the first of its kind in Southeast Asia, joining existing locations in cities like Los Angeles, Copenhagen, Rome, Seoul and Tokyo.
Conceived as a community hub, the Studio aims to connect with people in their daily lives, work, and play environments. Marcel Luis Mustelier Perez, president and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Singapore, emphasized that Singapore's energy, creativity, and innovative spirit make it the ideal location for the Studio. The Studio will occupy the Future of Us Pavilion at Gardens by the Bay for a year.
Visitors to the Studio can explore Canvas, an evolving platform for creative expression, featuring Mercedes-Benz models alongside art installations and collaborations with local and regional artists. The inaugural installation at Canvas is a digital artwork by Singapore-based Metamo Industries.
The Studio also houses Commune, a hospitality, retail, and lifestyle concept featuring a cafe and social hub designed by local partners Commune and Stacked Store. Visitors can shop limited-edition merchandise, discover the latest Mercedes-Benz innovations, and participate in culinary and lifestyle collaborations.
Finally, Courtyard offers a communal space designed to inspire discovery and spark conversation through immersive installations and interactive activities. The space can accommodate a variety of events and gatherings with modular furniture that doubles as functional seating. The first community weekend at Courtyard will take place on the final weekend of August, featuring collaborations with Adidas Run Club, Rapha, TUNDRA, Studio Wilt, and Tell Your Children.
Admission to Mercedes-Benz Studio Singapore is free, and no appointment is required. Some programs may require advance registration or separate ticketing. The Studio is open from Wednesday to Thursday, 4pm to 10pm; Friday to Sunday, 8am to 8pm.
