Beeter’s throw to first base on Esteury Ruiz’s infield hit left runners on second and third, setting the stage for Sanoja’s game-winning hit. Miami's victory moved them to a .500 record at 65-64, while Washington fell to 61-69. This win marked the Marlins' sixth consecutive triumph over the Nationals, extending their winning streak.

Jake Irvin (2-7, 5.80) was scheduled to start for Washington in the next game, while Eury Pérez (6-9, 3.23) takes the mound for Miami in Saturday's matchup.
