Islamabad University Professor Kills Wife 9 Months After Marriage

A university professor in Islamabad is accused of murdering his wife in Rawalpindi with assistance from a domestic worker and his father, according to police and the victim's family. The victim, identified as Hina, had been married to the accused for approximately nine months when the incident occurred in the Lalkurti area of Rawalpindi's Civil Lines police station.

The woman's body was discovered in the bathroom of her home, where police claim she was restrained by her husband's hands being tied behind her back and a cloth placed over her mouth. The husband and the domestic worker have been apprehended, while the victim's father-in-law has been named in the case and his arrest has been demanded by her family.

Hina's brother stated that he was informed of the situation by her father-in-law and arrived at the scene to find her body. The family alleges that the suspects attempted to suggest the killing was a suicide, while the husband had reportedly abused Hina previously and this marriage was his second, following a divorce from his first wife.

The post-mortem examination of Hina has been completed, and its report is pending. Police have gathered evidence from the scene and are investigating all facets of the case. The victim's family has requested that Punjab Police apprehend all suspects to ensure justice.
