iPhone denied: Son jumps off cliff; parents die

An 18-year-old boy named Kunal Chandwade tragically took his own life on Friday by jumping off a cliff at Khavdya Dongar near Tisgaon in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. His parents, Murlidhar and Sangeeta, met their demise moments later, attempting to rescue him. Kunal, along with his parents, was from Dhangar Pimpalgaon village in Jalna district.

The young man climbed the cliff around 10 am on Friday and stood near the edge, defiantly refusing his parents' pleas to turn back. Despite the efforts of local villagers and fire brigade teams setting up safety nets, Kunal remained steadfast in his decision. Tisgaon sarpanch Sanjay Jadhav, who was present during the ordeal, recounted how they repeatedly urged Kunal to reconsider, even offering to buy him an iPhone himself. Kunal, however, remained resolute, stating, "There is no solution now. There is only one solution."

As the situation escalated, Murlidhar, determined to save his son, approached him. Just as he got close, Kunal jumped, and both father and son fell together. Sangeeta, witnessing the tragic scene, jumped from the cliff shortly after, succumbing to her grief. All three bodies were recovered and sent for postmortem examination. The local police chief, DCP Ratnakar Navale, expressed that the family would take the remains to their native village for final ceremonies.
