Inter complete £30m deal for Liverpool’s Jones

Inter Milan have finalized a £30 million (£35 million euros) deal to sign Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones. The 25-year-old midfielder, who has agreed to a contract with Inter until 2031, accepted an offer of £25.7 million (£30 million euros) plus £4.3 million in add-ons. Jones expressed his excitement about joining Inter, stating that it is a club he has wanted to join for a long time.

Liverpool accepted the offer, which includes a 10% sell-on clause. In June, Liverpool had rejected a verbal offer of £25 million (£21.7 million euros) from Inter. The Premier League side valued Jones, who had one year left on his contract, at around £35 million. Inter had shown interest in Jones as early as January, proposing a loan deal before Liverpool turned down the proposal.

Jones made 228 appearances for Liverpool, debuting under Jurgen Klopp in 2019. Last season, he played 49 times in all competitions, with only 18 starts in the Premier League, struggling to secure a regular starting spot under Arne Slot. Jones, who joined Liverpool's academy at the age of nine, is now the third English player to join Inter this summer, following John Stones and Djed Spence.
