Inter begin title defence with stylish 4-1 win over Monza

Inter Milan launched their Serie A title defence with a dominant 4-1 victory over newly-promoted Monza at their home stadium on Saturday. The Italian champions showcased their strength by capitalizing on just six minutes of play when Hakan Calhanoglu scored from distance. Monza, having returned to Serie A after a season in the lower division, equalized in the 29th minute through Gustavo Varela.

Inter swiftly regained their lead, with Piotr Zielinski netting in the 48th minute. Later, Pio Esposito, preferred to Marcus Thuram in the starting lineup, added a third goal eight minutes after halftime with a clever backheel finish from Andy Diouf's cross. Yann Bisseck completed the scoring in the 63rd minute as Inter firmly established themselves as the clear favorites to retain the Serie A title.
