Insta360 Luna Pro Launches With 1-Inch Sensor and 4K Vertical Video

Insta360 has released the Luna Pro, a gimbal camera featuring a 1-inch sensor and Leica optics, marking its second camera model after the Luna Ultra. Priced at approximately $505, the Luna Pro is currently available in China with global availability pending. The camera boasts a 1-inch CMOS sensor paired with a Leica Summicron lens, providing an f/1.8 aperture and a 20mm-equivalent focal length.

It supports video recording up to 8K at 30fps, 4K at 120fps, and 1080p slow-motion at 240fps. Insta360 highlights the Luna Pro's capability to output 4K 30fps video directly in a 9:16 format, utilizing 6K oversampling for the vertical footage. The camera's key features include 2x lossless 4K zoom and up to 4x enhanced digital zoom, with AI processing to maintain image detail at higher zoom levels.

It offers three Leica color presets (Chrome, Natural, and Vivid) and six cinematic filters, with color settings shareable via QR codes. AI-powered subject tracking, three-axis stabilization, and a dedicated color-temperature sensor for white balance adjustment are also included. A 2-inch detachable OLED touchscreen serves as both a wireless remote and wireless microphone, enabling video monitoring and camera control up to 20 meters away.

The camera packs a 1,550mAh battery with up to four hours of recording time, fast charging to 80% in 23 minutes, and supports expandable storage up to 2TB.
