Ghalibaf: US put regional allies at risk for Israel

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has accused the United States of endangering the security of all its allies in the region in order to protect Israel. In a statement on X, Ghalibaf alleged that Washington's aggressive tactics have pushed regional partners to the brink of existential risk. Ghalibaf noted that his country has received messages from neighboring nations discussing the potential establishment of new security arrangements and economic cooperation in the area.

He emphasized the necessity of shifting away from Western control and advocating for regional autonomy to achieve lasting peace and stability. Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Oman's Ambassador to the US to discuss mutual interests and strengthen bilateral relations. The meeting took place at the US Institute of Peace, with both sides highlighting the importance of continued coordination to tackle shared regional challenges.

This follows heightened tensions over the Strait of Hormuz, with US President Donald Trump warning Oman against interfering in American interests, threatening military action if necessary. The situation is further complicated by ongoing negotiations between Iran and Oman regarding control of the strategic waterway.
