Geno Smith throws a TD as Jets beat Steelers 17-0

Geno Smith delivered a standout performance in a 17-0 victory for the New York Jets over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Friday night. The Jets' quarterback capped a perfect one-series cameo by throwing for a touchdown and picking off two passes. Smith, who had missed the team’s preseason opener due to a sore left ankle, started and drove the Jets 69 yards on a 7-for-7, 65-yard passing drive, capped by a 13-yard flip to wide-open Jelani Woods.

The Jets' defense also shined, holding young Pittsburgh quarterbacks Will Howard and Drew Allar in check, and cornerback David Bailey made a notable interception of Howard early in the first quarter.
