Dubai’s Iconic Toyota Building Tenants Fined Over Illegal Partitions

Tenants residing in the renowned Toyota Building in Dubai have been penalized for having unauthorized partitions installed in their apartments. These occupants must resolve the fines before they can conclude the process of vacating the premises. Additionally, they are required to settle any remaining obligations with the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA).

As per the building's management, the Dubai Municipality is directly handling the matters pertaining to the tenants who contravened the regulations. Upon the payment of the fines, the tenants must obtain the necessary clearances from both Dubai Municipality and DEWA. They will then be able to request a final clearance certificate from the building management.

The exact fine amounts and the number of tenants affected remain undisclosed. The infractions involve apartments that were divided into smaller rooms utilizing unauthorized partitions. All such alterations must adhere to the local building and safety standards. The Toyota Building, also known as the Nasser Rashid Lootah Building, is a 15-story tower located on Sheikh Zayed Road.
