The annual event "Open Lambic Breweries 2026" is set to take place, inviting the public to visit a select group of artisanal breweries. The analysis from the Italian Beer Consortium and Coldiretti reveals that 13 million Italians have planned experiences related to brewing during the summer of 2026, demonstrating the growing popularity of locally produced craft beer.

The participating breweries include Luppolajo from Castel Goffredo (Mantova) in Lombardia, Mastri Birrai Umbri from Gualdo Cattaneo (Perugia) in Umbria, Luppolovers from Città di Castello (Perugia) in Umbria, Palazzo Cavalieri from Godega di Sant'Urbano (Treviso) in Veneto, and others such as Baladin from Piozzo (Cuneo) in Piemonte, Birra Salento from Leverano (Lecce) in Puglia, Serro Croce from Monteverde Irpino (Avellino) in Campania, Oltremondo from Montemaggiore al Metauro (Pesaro Urbino) in Marche, Lucchi–Italian Hops Company from Marano sul Panaro (Modena) in Emilia-Romagna, Hopposti from Roseto degli Abruzzi (Teramo) in Abruzzo, and Valle del Masero from Treviso in Veneto.

Visitors can immerse themselves in the world of beer, from picking hops to cutting vines, and enjoy guided tastings of locally produced artisanal craft beers. The Italian craft beer industry comprises 1,163 production facilities and employs around 93,000 people, with beer consumption per capita surpassing 36 liters, totaling approximately 2.1 billion liters, and generating a total business value of 9 billion euros.

The craft beer sector often features young entrepreneurs who innovate through locally sourced ingredients, direct relationships with agricultural businesses, and new models of sale and consumption.
