'Completely choreographed drama': PTI's Salman Akram Raja slams govt's failure to follow Supreme Court order

Islamabad: PTI General Secretary Salman Akram Raja denounced the federal government's performance as a "completely choreographed drama" and violation of the Supreme Court's directive, on Saturday. Raja explained this stance during an interview with Geo News, focusing on a contempt of court plea submitted by Advocate Uzair Karamat Bhandari, representing Imran Khan's sister Dr. Uzma Khan.

The plea sought legal action against those responsible for breaching the Supreme Court's August 18 order, which called for the transfer of the incarcerated premier to a private hospital in the capital. Raja emphasized that the filing of the plea was not political but rather a "purely legal and professional decision." He named jail administrators, the Punjab interior secretary, government officials, and ministers, along with the prime minister, as parties to the case.

Despite the government's claims of security concerns, Raja stated that the Supreme Court's decision was not followed, and no transfer to Shifa International Hospital or medical board consultation took place.
