Chamber of Mines commends government for breakthrough in Adamus Resources dispute

The Ghana Chamber of Mines has praised the government for reaching a breakthrough in the dispute over Adamus Resources Limited. The Chamber hailed the agreement to implement a 12-month plan to revive the mine, backed by a six-member joint management team. This collaborative approach, announced on August 21, 2026, showed a commitment to dialogue and investor confidence, according to the Chamber.

Adamus Resources is one of Ghana's few large-scale mining operations, and its revival is crucial for job preservation, local business support, and community sustenance, as well as contributing to government revenue and the mining value chain. The Chamber commended the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and the Minerals Commission for their efforts in achieving the practical resolution.

They also recognized Adamus Resources for its constructive involvement in resolving the dispute. The Chamber urged all parties to remain committed to transparency, accountability, and the implementation of the agreed roadmap, including addressing outstanding liabilities and securing necessary investments for the mine's sustainable operation.

The Chamber stated it remains ready to support efforts that protect investments, promote responsible local participation, and strengthen mining's long-term contribution to Ghana's development. The successful resolution and revival of the mine would benefit not only Adamus Resources but also workers, host communities, local businesses, and the broader mining sector.
