Bauchi Charges Visitation Panels to Tackle Challenges, infighting in ATAP, College of Education Azare

The visitation panels tasked with evaluating Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic (ATAP) and Aminu Saleh College of Education in Azare have commenced their work in Bauchi. The State Deputy Governor, Auwal Jatau, formally appointed the panels to investigate the institutions' academic, infrastructural, administrative, and financial readiness, with a specific focus on their expansion plans, including the introduction of degree programs and NCE qualifications.

Jatau emphasized that the panels must not tolerate any infighting or internal conflicts that could harm academic excellence or the institutions' development. The government pledged to take action against any such disputes. The panels are required to review various aspects of the institutions, such as finances, human resources, curricula, facilities, staff qualifications, welfare, regulatory compliance, and management relationships. They are also expected to recommend practical solutions to the challenges they identify.

The Chairman of the Visitation Panel for ATAP, Professor Abdurrahman Saminu Ibrahim, assured the public that his panel would conduct an objective assessment of funding, staffing, student welfare, and infrastructure. He commended the state government for initiating this process and pledged to deliver a detailed report with actionable recommendations within eight weeks.
