Aurangzeb meets Chinese fund to discuss investment opportunities

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb convened a meeting with a delegation from the Silk Road Fund, a prominent Chinese investment entity, on Friday. The meeting, presided over by Ms Zhu Jun, Chairperson of the Fund, aimed to explore potential investment opportunities and enhance economic cooperation between Pakistan and China.

During the discussion, Aurangzeb provided an overview of Pakistan's recent economic advancements. He highlighted significant strides in fiscal responsibility, stability in external accounts, the robustness of foreign exchange reserves, and an overall favorable macroeconomic outlook. The minister emphasized the government's commitment to maintaining economic stability while simultaneously pursuing structural reforms and sustainable growth.

Aurangzeb also outlined the government's strategic initiatives to bolster domestic resource generation. These efforts include broadening the tax base, enhancing tax administration through digitalization, and addressing structural issues within the energy sector. The meeting served as a platform for both parties to delve into potential avenues for collaboration and investment, signaling a potential strengthening of economic ties between Pakistan and China.
