Airport players prepare by taking hits from mom | Training Camp Report

Carleton witnessed an unusual sight during the final minutes of Airport football team's practice on Aug. 15. Rather than their usual opponents, the players were being tackled by their mothers. The event, known as Mom Mania, aimed to bring the team together and provide a much-needed break from the intense training. Jaylen Strong was the star of the evening, taking a particularly hard hit from his mother, Tasha Strong.

The impact sent Strong reeling, but he recovered with a smile. The practice, which kicked off at 12:01 a.m. as usual, concluded with the fun event, drawing cheers from the players and their mothers. Airport coach Derek Anderson explained the idea came from a story he read about other teams doing the same thing. The Jets, who finished last season with a 2-7 record, are looking to bounce back this season.

Senior running back/linebacker Patrick Murphy believes the team's two-game winning streak last season has ignited a fire under them. The team is eager to return to form at the beginning of the season, not just save it for the end. With their offensive line and defense showing promise, the Jets are optimistic about their chances in the upcoming season.
