412 Football Classic: FNB Stadium to host 3 days of high school football showdowns

Pittsburgh's FNB Stadium will host the inaugural 412 Football Classic from October 15-17. This three-day event will see six Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League high school football teams compete at the stadium for the first time since 2018. Jeff Garner, president of FNB Stadium and Riverhounds Sports Group, expressed excitement about the opportunity for players, coaches, and fans to experience games on a professional stage.

The venue, primarily home to the USL champion Pittsburgh Riverhounds, has previously hosted WPIAL football games, the Pittsburgh Passion women's football team, and the University of Pittsburgh's Spring Game in 2015. Garner added that the goal is for the 412 Football Classic to become an annual tradition, providing Western Pennsylvania high school teams with the chance to create lasting memories at a unique venue.

The three-night showcase begins on Thursday, October 15, with Neshannock facing North Catholic, followed by Penn Hills vs. Moon in a Class 5A Northeast Conference game on Friday, October 16. The event concludes on Saturday, October 17, with a Class 3A Western Hills Conference matchup between Hopewell and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart.
