LOS ANGELES, California - Kevon Looney, a three-time NBA champion, recently shared his expectations for the upcoming 2026-27 season with the Lakers’ social media team. The 11-year NBA veteran, who hails from Ohio, began by reflecting on his childhood memories of watching basketball with Kobe Bryant as his inspiration. Speaking about his role on the team, Looney emphasized the importance of learning from veteran players and their championship tendencies.

"Some of the things that I learned with the veterans that I played with. Some of the championship tendencies and knowledge that they’ve given me. Hopefully, we can start this journey of winning one together," he said.

Looney expressed his excitement about playing alongside Luka Doncic, acknowledging the Slovenian superstar's status as one of the best players in the league. "I’m excited to play alongside Luka (Doncic); he’s one of the best players in the league. Got to compete with him all these years, and he’s always a problem to play against, so I’m glad to be on his side this time."

The Lakers' fans can anticipate a player full of energy, hustle, and rebounds, which Looney has been known for during his 21-game stint with the New Orleans Pelicans in the 2025-26 season.
