Vuelta a España highlights to be shown on free-to-air channel 5 in the UK
Package follows Tour de France show on same channel
Free-to-air viewers in the UK will be able to catch highlights of the Vuelta a España on channel 5, starting on Saturday, 22 August. This follows a similar arrangement for the Tour de France this year. The deal extends until 2028 and is produced by TNT Sports, with Rebecca Charlton hosting the coverage. The first highlights episode will air at 7:30pm on Saturday, with regular evening broadcasts at 7pm.
ITV had previously shown Vuelta a España highlights, but the rights were not renewed. TNT Sports and HBO Max will retain live coverage, with monthly subscriptions at £30.99 or £25.99 for a 12-month contract. Charlton expressed her excitement about bringing the excitement of the cycling to UK viewers. TNT Sports plans to cover every aspect of the race, from the individual time trial in Monaco to the sprint for the rainbow jerseys in Montreal.
WBD Sports Europe's Scott Young emphasized the comprehensive coverage for fans across Europe. The Vuelta will begin in Monaco on Saturday and conclude in Granada on Sunday, September 13.
