Usain Bolt has signed up to play football for Wythenshawe Vets FC, a veterans' Sunday league team based in south Manchester. The eight-time Olympic champion sprinter is now listed as a registered player on the Football Association’s Full-Time website. The 40-year-old Jamaican is expected to join a squad that already boasts former Premier League stars such as Emile Heskey, Oumar Niasse, Antonio Valencia, Papiss Cisse, Joleon Lescott, Danny Drinkwater, Stephen Ireland, and Nedum Onuoha.
Although the club has not officially confirmed Bolt's registration, his inclusion would give the team a unique opportunity to witness the former world-record holder compete alongside a collection of ex-professional footballers.
