UAE weather: Rain, fog and 47°C heat forecast as unsettled spell continues

The United Arab Emirates is bracing for a week of fluctuating weather conditions, with temperatures soaring to a potential 47°C and the possibility of rain, fog, and strong winds. The National Centre of Meteorology predicts fair to partly cloudy skies on Friday, with convective clouds developing over eastern and southern regions, leading to a chance of precipitation.

Inland areas could experience temperatures as high as 47°C, while coastal locations will see highs between 37°C and 42°C. Mountainous areas may reach 37°C. Overnight humidity is expected to rise, particularly in western areas, potentially giving way to fog or mist. Winds are anticipated to be light to moderate but may intensify at times, blowing at speeds up to 45 km/h inland and in mountainous regions.

Similar weather patterns are forecast for the following days, with convective clouds possibly forming over eastern and southern parts of the country, bringing about afternoon rainfall. Temperatures are also expected to climb gradually over the week. By Sunday, clouds are anticipated to develop over eastern areas in the afternoon, with humidity increasing along coastal sections overnight.

On Monday, eastern clouds may turn convective in the afternoon, with fog or mist possible early on Tuesday over certain coastal areas. Rainfall could return on Tuesday afternoon, as convective clouds are expected to develop over the UAE's eastern regions. Despite the high temperatures, temperatures are expected to dip slightly as rain, fog, and blowing dust are forecasted to occur this week.
