Preston also linked Natalie's support for Trump to her belief that he saved her life, following her battle with cancer. The source of her political interest predates her relationship with Trump, as she had written letters to previous presidents, including George W. Bush during the Iraq war. Preston dismissed Trump's son's defense of his sister, stating that the criticism is "absolute trash" and that Natalie is a "genuinely good person" and one of the hardest-working people in the White House.
