Tinubu suspends 3 permanent secretaries, orders arrest of fake agency promoter

President Bola Tinubu has suspended three Permanent Secretaries and ordered the arrest of a private individual following the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission's discovery of a second fake government agency operating from within the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. The fake agency, known as the National Brands Development and Mandates within the Nigeria Special Project Office, was found to have been granted office space within the SGF premises without authorization.

This revelation came during the commission's ongoing investigation into the earlier discovered fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, which had been allocated N1.3 billion in the 2026 budget despite the Presidency denying its existence. The promoter of the fake agency, identified as Prince George Nwabueze, is set to be arrested, and the Permanent Secretaries overseeing the affected offices have been suspended.
