Texas A&M host elite 2028 5-star Edge in early October

It's just two weeks until Texas A&M's 2026 season opener against Missouri State on Saturday, Sept. 5. Although the current season remains the primary focus, coach Mike Elko and his team are preparing to host a growing list of 2028 recruits just after signing five-star quarterback Donald Tabron II. The Aggies have already secured the No. 1-ranked 2027 recruiting class, and Elko's experience navigating the NIL-driven landscape, including the new 5-for-5 rule, suggests he's ready to take on the challenge of signing 2028 prospects who no longer need to worry about redshirt years.

In the 2027 cycle, Elko landed a record six five-star prospects, and he's not backing down from pursuing other elite recruits, such as five-star Edge Asher Ghioto. Ghioto, who showed his NFL-level strength and quickness during his 2025 sophomore season, has already been invited to College Station for Texas A&M's game against Arkansas on Saturday, Oct.
