Teen arrested over rape of 14-year-old

A 17-year-old male, Benjamin Daniel, has been arrested by the Airport Police Command in connection with the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl at the Sabo Masalashi area, Bassa, Abuja. The incident was reported to the Abuja Airport Police Division by the victim's mother. According to the statement, Daniel allegedly lured the victim into his room under the pretense of purchasing soya bean cake she was selling, where he sexually assaulted her.

Upon receiving the report, the Divisional Police Officer immediately advised the victim's parents, facilitated her medical attention, and mobilized personnel to locate and arrest the suspect. The suspect is currently in police custody and will be brought before a juvenile court upon the conclusion of the investigation. The Airport Police Command has condemned the incident and reiterated its zero tolerance for rape, sexual assault, and all forms of sexual violence.
