Stories that caught our eye: August 14 to 21

Nadia Beller, a 33-year-old woman, was allegedly attacked by hitmen in Bolivia on August 16. Fernando Cerimedo, who was romantically involved with Beller, testified that he last saw her on that day and then flew to La Paz. Cerimedo denied any involvement in the attempted femicide and called their relationship a respectful friendship since meeting in October. Prosecutors sought to detain Cerimedo for six months due to concerns of him fleeing, but further investigation stages remain pending.
