Spurs agree £75m deal to sign Man City's Savinho

Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign Brazilian winger Maximiano "Savinho" for £75 million, with an additional £10 million in potential add-ons. The 22-year-old Brazilian is set to undergo a medical and subsequently sign a long-term contract with Spurs. Savinho's transfer to north London has been ongoing for over a year, as Tottenham had previously failed to secure his signature last summer.

Tottenham's pursuit of Savinho began after they invested a combined £185 million in midfielders Mateus Fernandes from West Ham and Sandro Tonali from Newcastle during the previous transfer window. Head coach Roberto De Zerbi now aims to bolster the team's attacking options. However, Tottenham's spending spree appears to be far from over, with sources indicating that discussions regarding the potential acquisition of City teammate Omar Marmoush are progressing well.

The 22-year-old Egyptian forward was a £59 million signing from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2025 and experienced limited playing time under Pep Guardiola at City last season.

Additionally, Tottenham remains interested in Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo, although it remains uncertain whether they can finance a deal for both Marmoush and Gakpo, alongside Savinho. The Spurs' summer spending will surpass £300 million, despite recovering approximately £140 million from the sales of Cristian Romero, Djed Spence, and Luka Vuskovic. Tottenham's Premier League campaign kicks off against Brentford on Saturday, while Manchester City will face Bournemouth on Sunday.
