Speakers pay tribute to services of Prof Ali Murtaza Dharejo

Hyderabad witnessed a solemn gathering at Sindh University’s Department of Zoology to pay tribute to the remarkable academic and research contributions of the late Professor Dr Ali Murtaza Dharejo. The department organized the condolence reference to honor his legacy, with speakers reflecting on his invaluable impact on students and the academic community.

Professor Dr Abdul Sattar Shah, the Pro-Vice Chancellor who chaired the event, highlighted Professor Dharejo’s extraordinary dedication to education and research in his presidential address. He described the professor as an unwavering teacher committed to nurturing quality education and scientific thinking among students. Prof Shah emphasized that Dr Dharejo’s work in zoological sciences significantly bolstered the department’s academic standing.

Dr Shah underscored that Professor Dharejo’s research-driven approach served as an inspiration to students and budding researchers, encouraging them to pursue scientific inquiry with both integrity and passion. He further noted that the deceased would be remembered for his steadfast professional commitment and substantial intellectual contributions to the University of Sindh.

Prof Riffat Sultana, Chairperson of the Department of Zoology, spoke of Professor Dharejo’s pivotal role in fostering academic activities within the department. She described him as a steadfast educator who went above and beyond to mentor and guide students. Prof Sultana noted that his lectures and academic dialogues greatly enhanced students’ comprehension of zoological sciences. She reiterated that his contributions and his deep affection for colleagues and students would be cherished through the department’s history.

Professor Dr Muhammad Saeed Wagan also paid tribute, highlighting Professor Dharejo’s exceptional teaching capabilities and diligent research efforts. He emphasized that the professor’s work would continue to be a guiding light for young scholars and educators.

The event concluded with a collective acknowledgment of Professor Dharejo’s immense contributions, which left a profound imprint on the academic landscape of Sindh University.
