Slack will now let you code as a team to get those tricky tasks done

Salesforce and Slack have unveiled Slack Code, a new feature set to revolutionize team coding. Dedicated channels will allow coding teams to monitor changes in real-time, making complex coding tasks more manageable. A wide array of AI-powered coding agents, such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and ChatGPT, will be available to assist teams.

Users can tag their preferred coding agent, which then creates a code channel for collaboration. In this channel, team members can review code diffs, check live previews, provide feedback, and approve work, all within Slack. Every code channel corresponds to one project, ensuring focus and tidiness. Users can mute or archive channels when no longer needed.

All team members can follow the progress in their tabs, witnessing live previews and tracking changes. Upon completion, the channel archives itself, preserving an audit log. Organizations can customize agent behavior and integrate with existing tools, enabling seamless automation of workflows. By bringing coding into the team workspace, Slack Code aims to change how employees build and work, making coding a collaborative, multiplayer experience.
