Qatar, Arab countries condemn attack on Syria’s military airport

Qatar, Jordan, Algeria, Indonesia, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mauritania, Pakistan, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, and Turkiye have forcefully denounced Israeli airstrikes on Abu Al Duhur Military Airport in northwestern Syria. These ministers emphasized that the attacks were a grave escalation and a blatant violation of Syria's sovereignty, security, stability, and territorial integrity. They expressed deep concern over the ongoing targeting of Syrian territory and infrastructure, noting the damage caused by these strikes.

The foreign ministers highlighted that such actions jeopardize Syria's efforts to restore security, rebuild national institutions, and address the humanitarian fallout from years of conflict. They stressed that Israel's persistent violations of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity only serve to escalate tensions, undermine regional peace and stability, and weaken respect for international law and UN principles.

The ministers implored the global community to firmly and clearly condemn the ongoing aggression against Syria, taking concrete steps in line with international law and the UN Charter to halt these violations. They demanded the withdrawal of Israeli forces from occupied territories, ensuring the preservation of regional peace and stability.

The ministers reiterated their unwavering commitment to respecting Syria's sovereignty, security, stability, and territorial integrity, firmly rejecting any attempts to undermine these fundamental principles.
