Punjab Introduces New Mandatory Requirement for Arms Dealers

The Punjab Home Department has implemented a more stringent tracking system for arms dealers operating in the province, mandating digital inventory records for all entities. Under this new regulation, dealers are obligated to input information regarding their current stock, acquisitions, sales, and available weaponry and ammunition onto the Home Department's online platform.

Additionally, a specialized inventory module has been established specifically for licensed arms businesses in Punjab, enabling them to systematically document their transactions and holdings. Dealers were given until August 26 to accurately input their existing inventory and records of purchases and sales onto the portal. The Home Department has provided the necessary listings of arms dealers to deputy commissioners in their respective regions, who have been tasked with ensuring timely completion of the online record submissions by the deadline.

Upon the completion of the inventory updates, deputy commissioners will forward compliance reports to the Punjab Home Department. Furthermore, the department has organized online training sessions at deputy commissioners' offices to assist arms dealers in understanding and effectively utilizing the new digital inventory system.
