Ponguleti asks officials to expedite land resurvey
Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy urged officials to expedite land resurvey efforts in a meeting with beneficiaries of the Indiramma Housing Scheme in Jagtial. The government is aiming to complete the resurvey of all agricultural and abadi lands within one-and-a-half years through the Integrated Bhu Bharati portal, Reddy stated. The first phase of the resurvey is currently underway in 70 villages across the State, including those in Jagtial district.
During the visit, Reddy, accompanied by Social Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar, inspected the Nookapally 2-BHK Housing Colony and participated in housewarming ceremonies for beneficiaries. The Minister also laid foundation stones for multiple government office buildings, such as the Revenue Divisional Office in Jagtial and Metpalli.
Reddy revealed that in the initial phase, Pattadar passbooks would be issued to all eligible farmers post-completion of the resurvey, while fraudulent passbooks would be identified and cancelled. He accused some ineligible individuals of benefiting from the Rythu Bandhu scheme using false passbooks during the previous BRS government. The resurvey aims to resolve land-related issues transparently, safeguarding the rights of legitimate farmers, according to Reddy.
He alleged that the prior Congress government neglected basic amenities at the Nookapalli 2-BHK colony, releasing ₹32 crore for drinking water, drainage, electricity, and other infrastructural improvements after coming into power. Funds will be allocated in the subsequent phase to construct a school building and provide additional facilities. Officials have been directed to establish a ration shop and provide a bus service to the colony, Reddy added.
The Minister pledged the government's commitment to ensuring that every eligible poor family receives a home, with no poor family left without shelter in the State. Reddy also reviewed land resurvey, housing, and revenue-related matters with Collectors of the former composite Karimnagar district in Jagtial. According to official sources, Reddy ordered the suspension of the Yellareddypet Tahsildar in Rajanna Sircilla district following complaints of neglect of duty.
He instructed officials to prioritize the land resurvey and construction of Indiramma houses, resolving "22-A and assigned land" cases transparently.
