The cast and crew of HBO Max's "The Pitt" were shocked when the series earned 24 Emmy nominations, surpassing the previous record set by "Succession." Among the nominees were 13 actors, including "Pitt" stars Noah Wyle, Katherine LaNasa, and Shawn Hatosy. Wyle, who plays Dr. Michael "Robby" Rabinovitch, won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role as a broken hero in the first season who becomes increasingly self-destructive in the second.
His performance was praised as "perpetually dark" and "borderline suicidal" by fans. The show's creator, John Wells, directed multiple episodes, including one where Hatosy moonlighted as the director.
