Nvidia denies report it is rolling out China AI chip by year-end

Nvidia has firmly denied a report by The Information claiming the company plans to roll out a China-specific AI chip by the end of the year. The report, citing two unnamed Nvidia employees, suggested the company was preparing a language processing unit (LPU) tailored for Chinese customers, following Reuters' March report. However, an Nvidia spokesperson stated unequivocally that such a product does not exist in their roadmap and that they currently have no LPU sales in the China market.

The Information's claims contradict Nvidia's official statements, which have acknowledged limited but controlled sales of their H200 AI chips to select Chinese firms since May, while also marketing their Vera CPU to other Chinese customers.
