NSMQ 2026: Winneba Secondary School holds off Fijai SHS to reach one-eighth stage

Winneba Secondary School has qualified for the One-Eighth stage after narrowly defeating Fijai SHS in a highly competitive match at the CNC Auditorium. The final tally saw Winneba with 44 points, just two points ahead of Fijai SHS, who finished with 42 points. Enyan Denkyira SHTS, a first-time participant, ended the competition with 12 points.

The quiz was marked by intense competition, especially between Winneba and Fijai, who were tied at 22 points each in Round 3. The Problem of the Day proved challenging for all contestants, with none scoring any points. Fijai SHS, the top-scoring school at the regional level, showed their prowess in Round 4, winning the round with 38 points compared to Winneba’s 35.

The riddle round also saw some thrilling moments, with Winneba successfully answering three riddles while Fijai managed to answer one. Despite the close finish, Winneba Secondary School managed to hold their nerve and emerge victorious, securing their place at the One-Eighth stage.
