New Airline Fly2Galicia Selects Alicante for Inaugural Route

Alicante-Elche Airport has been chosen as the inaugural destination for Fly2Galicia, a new Spanish airline headquartered in Santiago de Compostela. The airline intends to link Galicia with eight other Spanish and European locations, among them Alicante, Granada, Zaragoza, Venice, Milan, Prague, Munich, and Brussels. Services from Santiago to Alicante will run year-round, offering a consistent alternative to the limited seasonal flights that were previously available.

Fly2Galicia's entry into the market comes in the wake of Ryanair's departure from Santiago Airport, following a disagreement over airport charges imposed by Aena. This departure left a gap in the connectivity, particularly for routes to the Costa Blanca. While Vueling had intended to commence services to Alicante in 2025, Ryanair presently remains the sole airline operating direct flights between Santiago and Alicante, with schedules contingent on the peak holiday season.

Fly2Galicia is set to launch its service on December 3, offering three weekly flights in each direction. One-way tickets will commence at €20. Departures from Santiago will take off at 10:50 am on Mondays and Thursdays, and 7 am on Saturdays. Return flights from Alicante will leave at 1:15 pm on Mondays and Thursdays, and at 9:25 am on Saturdays.

The expanded connection is anticipated to benefit travelers between Galicia and the Costa Blanca for both leisure and business purposes, as well as to enhance Alicante Airport's domestic network and grant Santiago passengers direct access to Spain's most sought-after coastal destination.
