Meghan in talks for role in Netflix series The Gentlemen, BBC understands

Meghan Markle is engaged in preliminary negotiations to re-enter the acting industry through a role in Netflix's series The Gentlemen, according to BBC reports. This would represent her first noteworthy acting engagement since her nuptials to Prince Harry in 2018. The bulk of The Gentlemen's prior episodes were filmed in the picturesque Cotswolds, a region reportedly earmarked for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's future residence in the UK.

The series, helmed by Guy Ritchie and featuring Theo James, centers around a duke turned drug lord. The specifics of Meghan's potential involvement in the show remain undisclosed. Previous cast members include Hugh Bonneville and Vinnie Jones. Meghan gained prominence for her role as Rachel Zane in the American legal drama Suits, which concluded its run in 2018.

She had previously cited her decision to step away from acting as a fresh beginning rather than a relinquishment of her career. Recently, the Duchess of Sussex made her debut in nearly a decade of acting, appearing as herself in the upcoming comedy Close Personal Friends, alongside Lily Collins and Brie Larson. A return to the limelight could prove financially rewarding for Meghan.
