Marc Anthony, Chayanne and more to play benefit concert for Venezuela and Colombia earthquake relief

Latin music icons Marc Anthony, Luis Fonsi, Chayanne, Feid, and Jay Wheeler will join forces for an international benefit concert in Miami on Sunday. The event, titled "Unidos por Los Nuestros" or "United for Our Own," aims to raise funds for earthquake victims in Venezuela and Colombia. The stars, along with many others, will perform live on a livestream to support immediate and long-term relief efforts.

Proceeds will go towards rebuilding homes, repairing schools and community spaces, providing support for children and mental health assistance, among other initiatives. Marc Anthony, a Grammy Award winner, will be administering the funds through his nonprofit Maestro Cares Foundation, in partnership with the Univision Foundation.

The concert was originally planned to aid Venezuela following a 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude quake that struck northern regions on June 24, killing over 6,300 people. However, after the 7.4 magnitude earthquake hit western Colombia on Monday, organizers expanded the event to include humanitarian aid for Colombia as well. The disaster has left at least 265 people dead and nearly 500 missing in Colombia, with unofficial counts suggesting over 4,100 are still missing.

Venezuela's ongoing humanitarian crisis is a pressing concern, as public attention begins to wane, according to Rodner Figueroa, co-founder and vice president of the I Love Venezuela Foundation.
