Jeli police have arrested a man who threatened officers with a parang during a house raid on Monday. The Jeli district police chief, Superintendent Kamarulzaman Harun, revealed that a team from the Criminal Investigation Division conducted the operation at 11 am after receiving public information about suspect's alleged activities.
During the raid, the suspect allegedly pulled out a 36cm-long parang from his waist and pointed it at the policemen, threatening to kill them. A struggle ensued between the suspect and the police, leading to one officer suffering injuries to his left middle finger and left shoulder. The suspect was eventually apprehended by the police.
