This year, the banking sector has been a major star on the stock exchange, with top executives moving their shares actively. In August alone, two significant movements have occurred. Banco Sabadell's Chief Strategy Officer, Marcos Prat, sold 152,000 shares at 3.62 euros on August 14, valued at 550,520 euros. Sabadell's Chief Financial Officer, Sergio Palavecino, also sold 180,000 shares between August 12 and 14, between 3.51 and 3.61 euros.

This aligns with the bank's strong performance this month, with Sabadell rising to a new historical high of 3.68 euros. BBVA is also in a record zone, having risen 23.7% so far this year. Within this rally, BBVA's board member Cristina de Parias sold 75,000 shares at 25.07 euros, totaling 1.88 million euros. Santander, Spain's largest bank by market capitalization, has also seen top executives move their shares this summer.

Following its first-half results, Santander reported its best numbers ever, with 8.973 million euros in profit, a 31% increase. In this context, Javier García Carranza, Head of Wealth Management & Insurance, sold nearly 320,000 shares at 11.95 euros, almost half of his shareholding. Conversely, BBVA board member Gina Dèz acquired nearly 7,000 shares this month, as the bank soared this year.

Santander's share price rose 2.65% to 12.5 euros on Friday, marking a 24.6% gain so far this year, the second highest after Unicaja, driving the Spanish stock market to new highs.
