K’si Schools Get Modern Furniture

The Mayor of Kumasi, Richard Ofori Agyeman Boadi, recently presented modern furniture to four selected Senior High Schools (SHS) in the Ashanti Region. These institutions are Prince of Peace SHS, Wesley Girls’ SHS, Kumasi Senior High Technical School (KSHTS), and Islamic SHS. Each of these schools received 100 sets of furniture, courtesy of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) through the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF).

The KMA’s initiative aims to create a more conducive environment for teaching and learning within these schools. Boadi, the Kumasi Mayor, emphasized the government’s commitment to quality education and the importance of providing a better learning atmosphere for students. He assured the assembly would go above and beyond to support the schools in their pursuit of quality education.

Boadi also highlighted that this furniture delivery would not be a fleeting gesture, promising additional 1,000 sets of furniture to be distributed to schools across the district every three months. Plans are underway for the KMA to construct a 20-seater toilet facility at KSHTS and a dining hall facility for Serwaa Nyarko Girls’ SHS and Islamic SHS.

Students were urged by Boadi to perform well academically to justify the investments made by the government and to make their families and the city proud. Judith Mensah Bamford, from the Kumasi Metro Education Directorate, praised the KMA for its support and called for further assistance to both basic and senior high schools. Rita Nti Acheampong, representing Prince of Peace SHS, assured that the furniture would be maintained properly to ensure its longevity.
