Kpone kingmakers disown man claiming to be Paramount Chief

The Kingmakers of Kpone have distanced themselves from Ago Tettey Kwao, who claims to be Nene Tettey Mansro II, the Paramount Chief of the Kpone Traditional Area. In a statement, the Kingmakers declared that Kwao has not been officially installed as the substantive Paramount Chief of Kpone in line with the traditional area's customary laws and procedures.

Consequently, they do not acknowledge Kwao as the Kpone Mantse and have not authorized him to represent, speak for, conduct business on behalf of, or exercise authority for the Kpone Paramount Stool. The Kingmakers also disputed any claim he may have to the Kpone Mantse stool, urging the public and institutions to verify his authority before accepting any actions attributed to him.

They particularly warned against treating any letter, appointment, order, land sale, agreement, customary announcement, public statement, ceremony, or other undertaking by Kwao as a legitimate action of the Kpone Paramount Stool. The statement was directed towards the general public, government bodies, traditional leaders, security forces, landowners, businesses, financial institutions, and the ten clans of Kpone.

The Kingmakers called upon all stakeholders to exercise caution and recognize no individual as the official Paramount Chief of Kpone until they are formally enstooled in accordance with both customary and national laws. Lastly, they cautioned that anyone or institution dealing with Kwao in his alleged role as Kpone Mantse would do so at their own risk.
