KP Recommends 50 More Names for Civil Awards

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has proposed an additional 50 names for Pakistan's civil and gallantry awards, according to a recent report. This recommendation comes after Islamabad expressed concern over the province's lack of representation in this year's civil awards. The KP government forwarded the list to the federal government through its Cabinet Wing.

Among those honored are the provincial police chief and the Peshawar Capital City Police Officer (CCPO). A total of 28 individuals have been nominated for gallantry awards, while 22 have been recommended for civil awards. Inspectors General Zulfiqar Hameed and several other police and security personnel, including former Hangu SP Shaheed Asad Zubair and former Hangu DSP Shaheed Muhammad Diyar Khan, have been suggested for various awards.

The KP government also nominated notable figures from the civil sector, such as Additional Chief Secretary Muhammad Abid Majeed and Additional IG Headquarters Abbas Ahsan, for higher rank awards. Several commissioners, deputy commissioners, and senior government officials have also been recommended for Tamgha-i-Imtiaz.

The final decisions on the awarded recipients will be made by the federal government following a thorough review and approval process.
