Knysna bloodbath: Ex-councillor, taxi boss shot dead day after former mayor killed
A former Knysna councillor and the taxi boss acquitted of plotting the assassination of ANC councillor Victor Molosi were shot dead on Thursday night. This comes a day after ward 8 councillor and former mayor Ndoda Aubrey Tsengwa was gunned down in his car in Joodsekamp.
Two former officials in Knysna were shot dead on Thursday night, just a day after the city's former mayor was killed. Mandla Matiwane, a former councillor, and Mandla Tyololo, the taxi boss, were killed in Bongani around 9pm. Tyololo had been acquitted of plotting the assassination of ANC councillor Victor Molosi, who was killed in July 2018.
Police are investigating whether the two shootings are connected, but the motive remains unclear. Both men had been involved in the case following Molosi's murder. Knysna's executive mayor, Thando Matika, confirmed the incident. The provincial serious violent crime unit has been reinforced to investigate the case.
