Karwa steps up school bus safety norms

Mowasalat, better known as Karwa, has recently bolstered its efforts to ensure the safety of school buses, as students prepare to resume their education. The company's fleet is now equipped with multiple cameras, safety alert systems, and live monitoring capabilities from a central control unit. Mohammed Abukhadija, Karwa's executive director of Commercial Affairs, revealed that the company has consistently leveraged advanced technologies to safeguard children traveling on its school buses.

During the annual "Back-To-School" event, held in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE), Abukhadija emphasized that the buses are fitted with numerous cameras to improve visibility while in transit. Additionally, the vehicles are equipped with safety alert systems for drivers, which notify them when students do not fasten their seat belts.

According to Abukhadija, all buses are continuously monitored from Karwa's operations control centre, allowing the company to keep track of the buses' status and ensure they are well-maintained and ready for service.

Beyond enhancing transport safety, Karwa is working alongside MoEHE to make the return to school more engaging for children through the annual Back-To-School event. This year, the event will take place at Place Vendome and will feature a variety of educational and entertaining activities designed to ease students' transition back to classrooms.

Activities include puzzles, face painting, virtual reality experiences, and a photo booth, among other contests and giveaways for children. Maryam Abdullah al-Mohannadi, director of the Public Relations and Communication Department at MoEHE, explained that the interactive wing of the event was established in partnership with Karwa, a key strategic ally in the ministry's return-to-school campaign.

Al-Mohannadi stated that the initiative enables the ministry to connect with families and children ahead of the new academic year, preparing them through entertaining and awareness activities. The campaign aims to psychologically and mentally prepare students for the upcoming school year, especially younger children who may experience fear or anxiety about starting school.

Al-Mohannadi emphasized that the interactive activities are not only meant to entertain children but also to create a positive and engaging atmosphere before they return to the classroom.
